Walking Taco Casserole Recipe

This Walking Taco Casserole is a fun and delicious twist on the classic walking taco. It combines all the flavors of your favorite taco with the convenience of a casserole, making it a perfect dish for family dinners or parties!


Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ pounds Ground Beef
  • ⅓ large Onion, chopped
  • 1 can Green Chilies (small can)
  • 1 can Enchilada Sauce
  • 2 ounces Cream Cheese
  • 1 bag Fritos Corn Chips
  • 1 bag Shredded Cheese
  • ¾ cup Lettuce, shredded
  • ½ cup Tomato, fresh and diced
  • 16 ounces Salsa
  • 8 ounces Sour Cream

Directions:

  1. Brown the Ground Beef:
    • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion over medium heat. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add the Sauces:
    • Add the green chilies, enchilada sauce, and cream cheese to the skillet. Stir until the cream cheese is fully melted and everything is combined.
  3. Layer the Casserole:
    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • In a 9×13 inch baking dish, layer the ingredients as follows:
      • Fritos Corn Chips
      • Meat Mixture (the beef and sauce mixture)
      • Shredded Cheese
    • Repeat the layers if desired, finishing with shredded cheese on top.
  4. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  5. Top and Serve:
    • Once out of the oven, top individual servings with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, salsa, and a dollop of sour cream as desired.
