Ingredients
For the French Toast:
- 4 large eggs
- ½ cup milk
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 3 slices sandwich bread
- 1 tsp butter
- 1 tsp oil
- Pinch of sesame seeds
For the Patties:
- 2 cups ground beef (burger mince)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
Additional Ingredients:
- 4 slices American-style cheese
- Burger sauce or Thousand Island dressing (store-bought or homemade)
- ½ small onion, finely diced
- Shredded lettuce
- Pickle slices
Instructions
1. Prepare the French Toast:
- In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the butter.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides, and place in the skillet. Cook until golden brown on both sides, about 2–3 minutes per side.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on one slice of bread while it’s still hot. Place a slice of cheese on the other two slices while they’re warm to allow it to melt slightly. Set aside.
2. Make the Burger Patties:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Divide the mixture into two portions and shape into large, square patties (roughly the size of the bread slices).
- Heat the skillet with a teaspoon of oil over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 3–4 minutes per side, or until fully cooked. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
3. Assemble the Big Mac French Toast:
- Place one slice of French toast with melted cheese on a plate (cheese side up).
- Add a layer of burger sauce, followed by diced onion, shredded lettuce, and the first beef patty.
- Top with a few pickle slices.
- Place the second slice of French toast with melted cheese on top and repeat: burger sauce, onion, lettuce, and pickles. Add the second beef patty.
- Top with the sesame seed French toast slice to complete the stack.
