- Prepare the Dough:
- In the bowl of a stand mixer, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar for about 1-2 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add the salt, eggs, vanilla extract, and almond extract. Mix until fully incorporated.
- Add the flour and baking powder, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Reserve 1 3/4 cups of dough for topping. Spread the remaining dough evenly in the prepared jelly roll pan.
- Add Cherry Filling:
- Top the dough with the cherry pie filling, spreading it evenly across the dough.
- Drop spoonfuls of the reserved dough in small pieces over the cherry filling, creating a crumble-like topping.
- Bake the Cake:
