Ingredients:
- Crust:
- 1 box Pillsbury ready-to-bake pie crust (2 rolled pie crusts)
- Filling:
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound Italian sausage (optional)
- 1 cup pepperoni slices
- 1 1/2 cups pizza sauce or marinara
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or provolone cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 3 tablespoons melted butter (for brushing the top crust)
Instructions:
- Cook the Meat:
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage until browned.
- Drain excess fat and set the meat mixture aside.
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Assemble the Pie:
- Roll out one pie crust and press it into a deep-dish pie pan or a deep skillet.
- Layer the bottom with half of the shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Add a layer of the cooked ground beef, Italian sausage, and pepperoni slices.
- Evenly pour the pizza sauce over the meat mixture. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Top with the remaining mozzarella and cheddar or provolone cheese. Add another layer of pepperoni slices on top of the cheese.
- Seal the Pie:
- Roll out the second pie crust and carefully place it over the filling. Seal the edges by pinching or crimping them.
- Brush the top crust with melted butter and sprinkle with a little garlic powder for extra flavor.
- Bake the Pie:
- Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Cool and Serve:
- Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
