Ingredients:

  • 1 lb medium shrimp, deveined and tails removed
  • 1 lb spaghetti noodles (adjust for serving size)
  • 6-8 garlic cloves, minced (adjust for personal taste)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • Olive oil (about 3 drizzles)
  • Italian seasoning
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt
  • Fresh or dried herbs (e.g., parsley or basil, to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Pasta:
    • Boil the spaghetti in salted water until tender. Add a drizzle of olive oil and fresh herbs while cooking for added flavor.
    • Reserve 1 cup of the pasta water before draining. Set the pasta aside.
  2. Prepare the Shrimp:
    • Rinse and clean the shrimp.
    • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat and add the shrimp. Cook until the shrimp starts turning pink and curling slightly.
  3. Add Garlic and Cook:
    • Add the minced garlic to the skillet. Continue cooking for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    • Drizzle in the olive oil for extra richness.
  4. Combine Ingredients:
    • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the shrimp and garlic.
    • Season with Italian seasoning, freshly ground pepper, red pepper flakes, and any additional herbs.
    • Gradually add the reserved pasta water, starting with 1/4 cup, until the dish is moist but not overly saucy.
  5. Finish and Serve:
    • Toss the pasta and shrimp mixture in the skillet until everything is well incorporated and heated through. Adjust seasoning if needed.

Serve immediately and enjoy your flavorful garlic shrimp pasta!
