This classic meatloaf recipe is a comforting, flavorful dish that’s perfect for a cozy family meal. With simple ingredients and a few easy steps, you’ll have a tender, savory meatloaf ready to serve in no time.
Ingredients:
- 350g ground beef
- 1 bunch fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 20g breadcrumbs
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
- 3 tablespoons spicy ketchup
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Directions:
- Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F), which is equivalent to gas mark 5/6. - Prepare the Vegetables:
Place the parsley and onion in a food processor. Pulse for a few seconds until they are finely chopped. Then, add the breadcrumbs and pulse again for a few more seconds to combine everything into a uniform mixture. - Mix the Meatloaf:
In a large mixing bowl, season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Add the chopped parsley-onion-breadcrumb mixture, ketchup, egg, and nutmeg. Stir or use your hands to mix everything together thoroughly for about 5 seconds. - Shape the Meatloaf:
Transfer the mixture into a baking dish, shaping it into a loaf shape, or place it in a loaf pan to form the classic sandwich loaf shape. - Bake the Meatloaf:
Place the shaped meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 45 minutes, or until fully cooked through and browned on top.
Enjoy!
Once the meatloaf is done, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving. This dish pairs perfectly with mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables for a complete, hearty meal.
